Can you apply a new wallpaper over old wallpaper?
If the old wallpaper is a non-coated one, then a new wallpaper can be put over it. However, if the old wallpaper is vinyl-coated, then it cannot be wallpapered on. We also do not recommend wallpapering over an existing wallpaper if it is embossed or embellished, as it will create bumps in the new wallpaper.
Can you apply wallpaper on Textured wall?
Textured walls can actually pose a challenge in wallpapering as it will make the wall look bumpy. The flatter the wall, the easier it will be to install a wallpaper on it. If you wish to achieve a smooth and clean looking wallpaper, you must place it on a flat wall.
Is a Primer Coat necessary before applying wallpapers?
Priming prepares the walls for wallpapering and helps promote the adhesion onto the surface. Priming the walls before wallpapering helps you achieve a better and smoother installation. Putting on a primer on dry walls also makes it easier to remove the wallpapers and redecorate the space in future.
